The dynamic of this artwork is driven by the universal attraction to Times Square.  Viewers experience the reality, myth and pulse of this urban icon through the artist’s eyes.  Magenta reworks her own art to fuse with the Times Square setting—AND – alters Times Square billboards to interlock with her art. The 3D animations of billboards, pulsating neon, theater lights, yellow cabs, and street life represent how it feels to stand in the middle of Times Square. To emphasize the architectural drama, the 3D animation pans up from the street to building tops, revealing a random conglomeration of sizzling, saturated color.

Magenta states,  “As a kid growing up in Manhattan, Times Square was the place to visit and fantasize about dreams and ambitions that were so much bigger than I was. It remains a thrilling place, and as a multimedia artist  today, I want to communicate the exuberance I feel about the Broadway scene.”
